William B. Travis Talented & Gifted Vanguard and Academy is a Dallas ISD magnet school located in the center of Uptown. Travis TAG is a premier destination for 4th through 8th grade students from across the city – a hub for accelerated education, community spirit and excellence.

Congratulations are in order for Travis TAG Vanguard and Academy! On March 27, 2009 the National Center for Educational Achievement "Just for Kids" program announced that only 6 Dallas campuses were named "higher performing schools" for 2008 in all subject areas.  Travis Vanguard and Academy were two of those six campuses!  Congratulations students, teachers and parents!

Travis TAG is a true gem within Dallas ISD. Since its opening in 2000, Travis TAG has earned significant awards and accolades:

• Texas Education Agency “Exemplary” rating every year since the school opened
• The Texas Business and Education Coalition's Honor Roll for sustained academic achievement – 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008
• Texas Monthly “Best Schools in the State” Top Tier – 2006 and 2007 D Magazine #1 Elementary School in the Dallas area – 2005
• Three Travis alumni have been awarded TX Top AP Scholars
• Glenn Hendricks Magnet Schools of Texas Merit Award – 2006 and 2007
• Magnet School of America Award for Excellence – 2007
• Magnet School of America Merit Award in 2004
